The Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore was established in the year 1914. The theater could originally accommodate 2300 spectators. It is one of the premier vaudeville venues in Maryland. It was the brain child of Thomas White Lamb who gave it an imposing look. The theater in the present times operates under the name of France-Merrick Performing Arts Center.

You can watch performances at the Grand Suites inside the Hippodrome Theater. Tickets can be obtained through subscription. If you become a patron, you will be able to hire the grand suites for events. The amenities at the suites include plush seats, bar, restrooms, invitation to special occasions, parking and concierge service. There is a branch of M&T Bank Pavilion inside the premises of the theater.
While a theater performance is going on, you cannot click photos. You must switch off cell phones, pagers when inside the theater. You must be decently dressed and children are required to have a ticket as well. Spectators are requested to reach the theater at least half an hour prior to the start of the show. All kinds of disability facilities are provided by the authority.
You can have your food at the Hipp cafe inside the Theater only. The seating arrangements are divided into two sections - the Balcony level and the Orchestra level.
