About Baltimore Light Rail Accident
There have been a series of light rail accidents in Baltimore. For instance, two teenagers died after they were struck by a light rail near Baltimore International airport.
In august, 2000, more than 22 people were also hurt in a light rail crash near Baltimore International Airport whereby the driver was also hurt. That was a follow up of a similar light rail accident which had occurred earlier that year in the same spot.

Passengers who were into travel in Baltimore coach said they only remember having a sudden lurch ride before being thrown against seats and poles. The front cabin lost the rail track, hit something and made the upper roof of the track get ripped off.
Passengers were too frightened, and a number of them got hurt by debris gushing in from the windows. Those who were hurt were taken to the nearby Harbor Hospital Center and treated.
After the investigations were done to establish the cause of the light rail accident, the driver was said to have been under the influence of prescription tablets.
However, it was not clear as to how the medication could have had impairment on the driver to the extent of losing the ability to control the train.
