Baltimore Convention Center - A Center for Convention and Exhibition

The Baltimore Convention Center is a convention and exhibition center located in Baltimore, Maryland. Under the aegis of Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association, this is one of the biggest draws of Baltimore. The original center opened in 1979 with about 40000 square meters of space, it underwent a massive expansion in 1997. In 2008 when the very famous Hilton hotels opened their plush hotel near the center it got connected by a skywalk bridge.

The hall was opened with the purpose of attracting tourists and traders to the city. Till date it hosts various exhibitions, trade fairs and retail sector meets. Due to the rapid development of the area nearby Baltimore and with added tourist attractions like Power Plant Livel, M&T Bank Stadium this convention center is slowly making news.

It is supposed that this exhibition cum convention center worked as a catalyst in the development of Western Baltimore. Since its inception it ignited the interests of locals in theatres and retail marketing. The statement that Baltimore Convention center is still acting as an impetus in the economic development of the region is very true.

In the recent years it was felt that a hotel near the convention center will boost the tourism and make it more viable to visiting traders and visitors; so in 2008, Baltimore Convention Center hotel very famously known as Hilton-Baltimore was inaugurated. Baltimore Convention Center is not a destination to be missed. Though it is not your regular tourist spot, this place is entwined with the history of Baltimore.
